Teman-teman sekalian,
sehubungan dengan diadakannya pengiriman buku bulan Juli ini, kami mengharapkan bantuan tenaga suka rela dari teman-teman sekalian. Kami akan melakukan penyortiran dan pelabelan buku dalam jumlah banyak.
Bagi yang berminat, teman-teman dapat mengirimkan nama dan nomor telepon ke buab@ppi-australia.org dengan subject: Volunteer. Bila sesuai dengan yang direncanakan, kami akan memulai penyortiran di akhir bulan Juni atau awal Juli, so, that’s just a month away.

Dalam perburuan buku tahun lalu, kami kembali ke St. Vincent de Paul (Vinnies). Kali ini tim kami terdiri dari Ashri dan Ibu Rosita (foto kiri) dan Zahra yang jepret jepret. Kami telah membuat janji dengan officernya satu minggu sebelumnya untuk membeli 2 kardus besar buku seharga AU $75 each. They were soo keen. Mereka sort buku-buku yang sesuai dengan selera kita; buku anak-anak bergambar. Mereka juga bantuin kita load kardus-kardus ke dalam mobil. Dalam perjalanan pulang, kami menyempatkan ke salah satu Salvation Army dan ternyata di sana kami mendapatkan buku yang jauh lebih banyak. 8 kardus in total. 4 kardus besar, 2 kardus sedang dan 2 kardus kecil. Semuanya kami dapatkan dengan harga $250.
Lalu kami pergi ke salah satu cabang St Vincent de Paul, tapi sayangnya stok buku yang tersedia tidak terlalu banyak, hanya sekitar 20 buah dan kami pun memutuskan untuk tidak membelinya. Lalu kami pergi lagi untuk mencari The Salvos di daerah Paddington tapi nasib lagi kurang baik, kami pun tidak menemukannya a.K.a nyasar. Singkat cerita, setelah berputar-putar di daerah Paddington untuk mencari The Salvos sekitar setengah jam, kami pun memutuskan untuk pulang ke rumah. Pencarian buku pun selesai.

Hello everybody!
This it behind the scene (BTS) post of BuAB’s recent article in the Jakarta Globe. All the way from Sudirman CBD (Central Business District), friends from the Jakarta Globe, Zack (right) and Fariez (left), came all the way down to Depok (it’s in the outskirt of Jakarta) – where my office is.
They supposed to come at 12 at noon, but as a precaution to avoid the famous severe traffic jam of Jakarta and Depok is not that near for Sudirman CBD, they left their office quite early and arrived in my place at 11. Not a problem
The interview went well and lasted for around 1 hour.

Baru saja dapat email dari Pak Muhammad, penerima buku di Aceh:
“Mika, here are the photos of the books that you sent to my schools, SMA Negeri 3 Putra Bangsa and SMA Negeri 1 Kutamakmur , North Aceh. These photos are the ones that I took from SMA Negeri 1 Kutamakmur whereas the ones from SMA Negeri 3 Putra Bangsa will be sent to you later because I haven’t had time to go to that school yet.
Thank you very much for sending the books and if you have some more you can send them again to me and I will supply them to other schools.”
